Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested to minimize the source of infection from the outside. The measures include restrictions of entry from countries where the pandemic is spreading; minimization of flights from epidemic areas to Vietnam; strict implementation of immigration procedures, minute check of details of medical declarations; statement of recommendations and requirement of passengers to report electronically their health status before coming to Vietnam.

Flights from Vietnam, especially from the national airlines of Vietnam (Vietnam Airlines) to the affected areas are restricted.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health to review and inspect the plan to mobilize medical forces to ensure adequate human resources, equipment, and facilities for treatment, minimizing possible deaths.

The National Steering Committee of COVID-19 prevention and control, the PM assigned to direct the procurement of a number of the necessary equipment to serve the treatment, prevention and control of the pandemic; For the short time, the PM agreed to buy or receive sponsors’ contributions to immediately get 2,000 quick test kits to supply to agencies and localities that are in high demand of testing.

 

From March 16, 2020, face mask wearing in public places (such as at supermarkets, airports, railway stations, bus stations, on public transports ... .) is compulsory. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Health shall direct the manufacture and supply of quality masks to meet the people's needs.

The Ministry of Transports shall direct the aviation industry and airlines to provide free masks to passengers in case passengers do not have them, including foreigners who enter Vietnam, and to ask passengers to wear the face mask during the whole flight and when entering the station.
