During 4 days from September 6 to September 9, 2018, Vinh University and the US Embassy in Vietnam jointly organized the International Conference on English teaching and learning methods (Vinh TESOL).
The conference was held with the participation of more than 200 lecturers, teachers, and students interested in the field of English teaching and learning from 25 provinces and cities in the country and 6 different countries. The conference was composed of two sections. The first section about training course on English teaching methods was conducted from September 6 to September 8, 2018, and led by experts from the United States. The main section of the conference including presentations by speakers and parallel reports of the participants was on September 9, 2018.
The conference attracted over 80 scientific reports. The main theme revolved the application of modern methods of teaching English: Improving learners' listening - speaking - reading - writing skills; Using different tools and equipment for teaching English as a foreign language; Researching factors affecting the teaching process, analyzing pedagogical strategies ...
Through the conference, lecturers, teachers, and students interested in teaching and learning English were shared about the reality of teaching English in Vietnam in particular as well as in the world so far, accrued limitations, suggestion of new ideas, attraction of learners, and improvement of the effectiveness of teaching English.
