From 4 to March 12, 2024, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with a high-level delegation from Vietnam attended the Special Summit commemorating the 50th anniversary of ASEAN - Australia relations and paid official visits to Australia and New Zealand.
At the Vietnam - Australia Higher Education Cooperation Forum, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang, President of Vinh University, had discussions with Australian universities to look for collaboration opportunities between Vinh University and Australian institutions, thereby increasing students’ access to advanced training programs and academic exchanges, as well as promoting faculty’s joint research.
During the official visit to New Zealand, in the city of Auckland Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Professor Dr. Neil Quigley, President of the University of Waikato and Chairman of the Central Bank of New Zealand. On this occasion, the University of Waikato and Vinh University signed an academic cooperation agreement in the presence of the Prime Minister.
The two institutions have agreed to implement the 2+2, 1+3 and 3+1 joint-degree programs in prioritized areas. The agreement is hoped to facilitate Vinh University’s implementing its development strategy, meeting international standards and realizing its vision of “ranking in the top 500 Asian universities by 2030, aiming to be in the list of top 1000 universities in the world by 2045”.
