Vinh University Delegation in South Korea for Wide-Reaching Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine Training

Vinh University Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc, led a delegation, which included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Van Chung (Head of the Department of Science and International Cooperation), MSc. Dau Khac Tai (Vice Dean), and 5 lecturers of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, to participate in an invitational training program to strengthen research capabilities and administrative capacities at Jeonbuck National University (from August 25th—31st). 

Under the auspices of the National Research Foundation of Korea and JBNU’s Advanced Livestock Science and Veterinary Education project, the delegation visited the facilities for training and research in the field of veterinary medicine. Here they observed the activities in laboratories, attended training lectures, engaged in creating specimens/samples for analyzing animal and pathological tissues, and determining the origin of animal diseases.

The delegation also had the opportunity to hone their teamwork skills through exchange and sharing while upgrading their professional proficiencies with professors and scientists from JBNU’s School of Veterinary Medicine. The efforts of the delegation through their effective participation were lauded. 

At the end of the program, members of VU’s delegation were awarded certificates acknowledging their completion of the training course.

Additionally, VU’s delegation had meetings with leaders of the Department of International Cooperation, the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the Center for Veterinary Diseases, and the Faculty of Electronics. At these meetings, participants discussed issues of mutual concern and committed to implementing cooperative activities in scientific research, training, staff and student exchange, etc., in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Furthermore, VU’s delegation expanded international cooperation with their partners in Korea through the signing of 02 MoUs (which included):

+ Zoonosis Research Institute (JBNU)—one of the few infectious disease research facilities in Korea accredited as an "Animal Biosafety Level III" facility (which allows researchers to investigate high-risk pathogens).

+ Soonchunhyang University—a top private university, prestigious for training and scientific research in literature, business, politics, sociology, education, and medical science.
