Vinh University and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Thailand renew the cooperation agreement

On July 31, 2024 Vinh University and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Thailand had a working session and signed a renewed cooperation agreement on scientific research.

In his welcome speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ba Tien, Vice President of Vinh University, noted that Vinh University and the BIOTEC have had cooperation in science research since 2006. The two parties have been involved in a number of joint activities and projects, such as enhancing the capacity for using laboratory equipment at Vinh University (2006); improving research capacity for lecturers (2008 - 2010); jointly carrying out one protocol task (2009 - 2010) with outstanding results. In the new development phase, both sides wish to continue promoting and strengthening cooperation in academic collaboration and scientific research in the fields of agriculture and biotechnology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaowaree Adthalungrong, Executive Director of BIOTEC expressed her delight that both sides continue to work and cooperate after more than 10 years. The signing of the renewed cooperation agreement marks a milestone in the collaboration between Vinh University and the Center, opening up future cooperation directions in research and biotechnology applications in the fields of agriculture, environment, medicine, and food between the two institutions. The 2024-2029 period agreement includes collaborative research programs, students and faculty exchanges, joint academic activities, international conferences, and workshops. Vinh University and BIOTEC will co-organize a workshop on Medicinal Mushrooms at Vinh University in October 2024.
