Dateline: Vinh City, Vietnam, March 8, 2025.
Vinh University organized a three-week Professional Study Exchange Program for nursing students from Green River College (USA). The activities involved fourteen American participants, including three faculty members and 11 students, together with their colleagues and peers from the Institute of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Technology - Vinh University.
During the program, Green River College students were engaged in academic learning and practical training at Vinh University, attending theoretical lectures and hands-on laboratory practice. In addition, the group gained practical experience at major hospitals in Nghe An province, including Nghe An General Friendship Hospital, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital, Nghe An Eye Hospital, and Ong Bat Van Clinic. Students learned about the local healthcare system at these facilities, observed patient care procedures, and participated in professional discussions with doctors and nurses.

After completing their study and training at Vinh University and hospitals, the students received certificates from Vinh University. At the certificate-awarding ceremony, Ms. Karalynn Lavalley, Head of the Nursing Department at Green River College, expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to the leadership of Vinh University and its partner hospitals for their warm welcome and dedicated guidance. She also expressed hope for future collaboration and student exchange programs between the two institutions.
During the program‘s final week, the group continued their fieldwork in rural and mountainous healthcare facilities at Yen Khe Commune, Con Cuong District, Nghe An Province, and paid visits to Hue ancient capital, Phong Nha Cave, and Trang An ancient town.
The exchange program was an enriching professional and cultural experience for Green River College students, providing them with insights into Vietnam‘s community healthcare system and seeing Vietnam as a friendly and hospitable people.
