The delegation included Ms. Michele Roulbet, Acting Deputy Chief of the Embassy’s Political Section; Mr. Patrick Elliott, political analyst, and Mr. Dao Cong Duc, Political Specialist. From the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc, Vice Director, and Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Huyen, Specialist, participated in the meeting. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Tran Ba Tien, Vice President; representatives of Research and International Affairs Dept., Academic Affairs Detp., Postgraduate Studies Dept., Student Affairs Dept., Foreign Languages Dept., and 100 students from different departments and schools.

On behalf of Vinh University, Dr. Tran Ba Tien welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced Vinh University. He also informed the achievements that Vinh University had gained. Besides, he wished to get more supports from the US Embassy in language training through scholarship programs and sending officials to work at Vinh University.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Michele Roulbet thanked the hospitality of Vinh University and highly appreciated the achievements of the University. On this occasion, she shared information about the United States and highlighted the diplomatic normalization between Vietnam and the United States since 1995, especially important historical landmarks. Ms. Michele Roulbet also had some questions for students to remind students of the historical landmarks presented.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of Vinh University, Dr. Tran Ba Tien thanked the delegation for sharing a lot of useful information to staff and students and wished the delegation would have many successes during their working term in Vietnam.
