On February 25, 2016, Vinh University welcomes a delegation from Gifu Province, Japan led by Mr. Satoshi Horibe, Deputy Excutive Director of Commerce, Labor and Industry Department. The delegation includes nineteen members from different departments of Gifu Province. The meeting is presided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Dinh Phuong, Vice President of Vinh University with the participation of related department leaders.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Dinh Phuong emphasizes that the cooperation with Japanese partners has been recently strengthened and the University keeps close relationship with Saga University, Tsukuba University, JICA (the Japanese International Cooperation Agency), some Vietnam-Japan joint-venture enterprises in Vietnam such as Yamaha, Sony and Fuyo training support fund. However, the cooperation results seem to be modest compared to the potentiality. The Vice President affirms that Vinh University continues to promote the cooperation with Japanese partners in the future, especially with educational ones.

Speaking for the Japanese delegation, Mr. Satoshi Horibe, Deputy Excutive Director of Commerce, Labor and Industry Department, expresses his gratitude to the hospitality of Vinh University and introduces cooperative potentiality of Gifu Province. He highly appreciates educational quality, staff and infrastructure of Vinh University. Mr. Shinichi Kawai, Director of Kawai Lime Industry Co., Ltd in Nghe An Province, says that thirty Vinh University’s graduates are working for his company. He also shares the need of employees who can speak Japanese for his company.In addition, he encourages Vinh University to connect Japanese NGO like JICA and Japanese state institutions in general and Gifu governmental divisions in particular to find volunteer teachers of Japanese, which favours the establishment of the Centre for Japanese language at Vinh University.

At the meeting, several ideas are raised to seek for feasible cooperation between Vinh University and Gifu local authorities as well as enterprises in Gifu Province.

To close the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Dinh Phuong expresses his thanks to the delegation and hope that more cooperative opportunities in high quality human resource training will be carried out in the future as result of this landmark.
