The guests from ICC were especially interested in VU’s training programs and research directions in chemistry, biology, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

Mr. Arika Sasaki gave a brief introduction about ICC.

Founded in 1884, the company's line of business includes the manufacturing of industrial inorganic chemicals. The company is making fine chemical products for industrial and agricultural use which are based on metalling oxide and high purity calcium refined mainly from the lime. Normally, industrial lime is made by mass firing by using heavy oil for fuel, but the company adopts the special way of firing such as chloride volatility process. Therefore, they are high in purity, stable in quality and most suitable grain size, crystalline form, activity, fluidity and good dispersibility. These products are used for food additive and adopted in the field which high specification and safety are required.

The Company contributes to the agricultural industry with safe and security as keywords. "IC Bordeaux" is adopted all over the Japan and even other Asian fields. In the scope of a project funded by JICA, IC Bordeaux is being tested in Nghe An’s orange field. Mr. Arika Sasaki thanked VU for allowing the teaching staff from Biology Faculty to join the project. He promised to help VU to contact and to have some cooperation programs with Kochi University in Japan. A scientific seminar will be co-organized by VU and ICC in March 1st , 2017.
