Committed to improving international relations and ensuring qualified education, Vinh University maintains close relations with several higher educational and scientific institutions from around the world. Vinh University conducts numerous scientific activities in collaboration with foreign partners and organizes successful national and international scientific conferences, seminars, and workshops. Many lecturers and staff of Vinh University are members of national and/or international scientific commissions or organizations associated with scientific centers in Germany, South Korea, Japan, France, Poland, Russia, China, Australia, United States, and Canada, as well as with international organizations in such fields as astronomy, zoology, botany, etc. The university also sends lecturers to give specialized courses in the US, China, Korea, Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.

Vinh University cooperates with international institutions to bring lecturers to its campus. Included among these are: the English Language Institute (USA), the Fulbright program in Vietnam (US Embassy), Solidarité Jeunesse Vietnam, University Rennes 2 (France), and the Universities of Kent and Cambridge (UK), among others.

Vinh University cooperates with various universities in Thailand on joint degree programs and with Thai and Lao universities in undergraduate and postgraduate training programs (paid for by students or through national scholarships). There are currently over 200 foreign students on campus. Vinh University foresees a significant increase in this number due to the development of international partners in specific fields.

Vinh University carries out exchange programs to promote cultural and human values. Many programs conducted with international partners have contributed to strengthening international friendly and cooperative relations. Included among the student exchange programs are the University of South Florida (US), Green River College (US), California State University - Northridge, University of Missuri-Kansas (US), Jeonbuk National University (Korea), Rajabhat Maha Sarakham University, and Nakhon Phanom University (Thailand).

Vinh University continues to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation with international partners in both human resource training and social development.
