Celebration of 10th anniversary of Law Department

The celebration was held with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An Province; representatives of departments, central and local branches. From Vinh University, Prof.Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Member of Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of Party Committee, President; leaders of divisions, staff, faculty members and students of Law Department.

Founded in 2009, the Department of Law started with only about 400 students, and now after 10 years of establishment, the Department of Law has developped to become the largest department of Vinh University with 3,000 students, 40 staff and teachers, including 14 doctors. With the professionalization of the teaching staff and constant improvement of education quality, the Department not only trains the bachelors of law, meets the human resources for the field of legal science, law enforcement in North Central Vietnam and the whole country but also assigned some postgraduate training in the Theory of State and Law. The Department is the first department of Law in the country to offer credit-based training with a curriculum framework of 58 subjects, 140 credits, of which 26 top-up subjects, 32 legal majors, especially the application of CDIO model was initially successful. Welcoming cultural program of Law Department students

In addition to training activities, the Department also opens a Center for Practice and Legal Advice to create a practical environment for career skills for students while providing free legal support to social policy beneficiaries in the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa highly appreciated the efforts of officials, lecturers and students of Law Department. He emphasized that in the official and unofficial polls, the Department is in the top 8 training institutions across the country. This is a remarkable result with a new 10-year training establishment. Currently, the Department has trained two levels from bachelor’s to master’s with many training systems such as full-time, distance, part-time, and doctorate in a near future. Nghe An has 519 km of border with Laos, many weak subjects have been propagated by Law Department. This partly brings the law to life.

The president also required Law Department to make more efforts to improve the quality of training in a sustainable manner, constantly improve the quality of teaching staff, try to further the education to the Doctorate of Law. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang The Lien - Former Vice Minister of Justice, former Rector of Hanoi Law University thought that the Department of Law has met the demand for the right to access the law of the people. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment, the department and eight staff are awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in legal science training.
