The standard training duration for a doctoral degree ranges from 3 years (36 months) to 4 years (48 months). Each
doctoral candidate has an individualized study and research plan covering the entire training period within the
approved
standard training timeframe, as specified in the recognition decision for doctoral candidates (according to the
template
in Appendix II).
Doctoral candidates are permitted to complete the training program earlier than the study and research plan by up to
1 year (12 months) or later than the study and research plan. However, the total training duration must not exceed 6
years (72 months) from the effective date of the recognition decision for doctoral candidates until the completion
of all procedures for thesis defense at the training institution.
Doctoral training is conducted in regular form, and doctoral candidates must spend sufficient time studying and
researching at the training institution according to the approved plan. Specifically, when completing 30 credits
within one academic year, it is considered a full-time concentrated study.
